    The EU Health Facility (EU-HF) in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MOH) conducted a one-day training workshop on basic health service package (BHSP) and guidelines to 39/2017/TT-BYT Circular implementation in Hai Phong today. Well attended by participants who work in both health and social insurance, and local authorities, the training workshop is designed to prepare local staff in using BHSP as a tool towards universal health insurance coverage.

    A Workshop on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Options for Ninh Binh and Da Nang is taking place in Hanoi today. Within the cooperation program, Health Sector Policy Support Program Phase II (HSPSP II), between EU and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to introduce PPP to the health sector in Vietnam, this one-day workshop is organized by the Department of Planning and Finance (Ministry of Health) and the EU Health Facility (EU-HF) to support two local hospitals in Ninh Binh and Da Nang.

Handbook on Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases for grassroots-level health staff in Vietnam under development

The work on “Handbook on Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases”, a practical manual designed for grassroots-level health staff is making a good move forward. On December 4th the second round of the Technical Review Board (TRB) meeting took place at the Ministry of Health (MOH) office with participation of Dr. Nguyen Trong Khoa, Medical Services Administration (MSA) Deputy Director, Prof. Tran Quy, TRB Chairman, Dr. Jose Cardona, EU Health Facility (EU-HF) Director, Dr. Vincent Guerard, EU-HF Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) expert (France), Dr. Ngo Le Thu, EU-HF NCD expert (Vietnam), and other prominent medical doctors from central tertiary hospitals in Vietnam who are on the TRB panel. The discussion was rich and useful in finalizing the Handbook. The Handbook aims to raise awareness among the medical community on the importance of NCD prevention and awareness of the risk factors as well the role of medical doctors during the periodic health examination using the Handbook as a job aid.
 
The development of the “Handbook on Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases” began in January 2017 following a field assessment and situational analysis. It also went through a thorough process of field-testing, consultation and technical and editorial reviews. The Handbook will be made available at the district and communal health centers for use as soon as it is finalized, tentatively in January 2018. This Handbook is a collaborative work between MSA (MOH) and the EU Health Facility with funding support from EU.
