Launching Workshop for Preparation of the Mother and Child Health Handbook Implementation in 15 Provinces of Vietnam

Today in Lam Dong, with financial support from European Union (EU), the Mother and Child Health Department under the Ministry of Health (MOH) in collaboration with the European Union Health Facility (EU-HF) are organizing a launching workshop for preparation of the Mother and Child Health Handbook implementation. This workshop is well attended by around 80 representatives and officials from MOH and its departments, including E-Health Administration, General Department of Preventive Medicine, Provincial Department of Health, Provincial Reproductive Health Centres, and Provincial Obstetric/Paediatric hospitals. 15 provinces attending the launching workshop include Hà Giang, Bắc Giang, Lạng Sơn, Thái Nguyên, Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Ninh Thuận, Bình Thuận, Lâm Đồng, Phú Yên, and An Giang.

The launching workshop aims to raise awareness among leaders and mass organizations of the benefits of the Mother and Child Health Handbook. Following this launching, 15 training workshops will take place from October to December 2018 to train provincial and district staff  from these 15 provinces on the Mother and Child Health Handbook implementation. This is part of EU’s support to Vietnam to  improve maternal and child health services in provinces in line with international recommendations and contribute to the progress towards Universal Health Coverage through Social Health Insurance, following the Vietnam National Action Plan on Safe Motherhood and New Born Care 2016 – 2020.

    The EU Health Facility (EU-HF) in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MOH) conducted a one-day training workshop on basic health service package (BHSP) and guidelines to 39/2017/TT-BYT Circular implementation in Hai Phong today. Well attended by participants who work in both health and social insurance, and local authorities, the training workshop is designed to prepare local staff in using BHSP as a tool towards universal health insurance coverage.

    A Workshop on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Options for Ninh Binh and Da Nang is taking place in Hanoi today. Within the cooperation program, Health Sector Policy Support Program Phase II (HSPSP II), between EU and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to introduce PPP to the health sector in Vietnam, this one-day workshop is organized by the Department of Planning and Finance (Ministry of Health) and the EU Health Facility (EU-HF) to support two local hospitals in Ninh Binh and Da Nang.
