    The EU Health Facility (EU-HF) in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MOH) conducted a one-day training workshop on basic health service package (BHSP) and guidelines to 39/2017/TT-BYT Circular implementation in Hai Phong today. Well attended by participants who work in both health and social insurance, and local authorities, the training workshop is designed to prepare local staff in using BHSP as a tool towards universal health insurance coverage.

On September 4, EU Health Facility in cooperation with VTV1 started the broadcasting the video stories on how the EU support to health sector in Vietnam is improving the lives of the ordinary citizens in Viet Nam. EU-HF is working together with Ministry of Health and Departments of Health in provinces to assure better access to health services to all layers of population, both in rural and urban areas. The first video story, focusing on the role of the ethnic birth attendants in the remote ethnic villages in decreasing the infant and mother mortality, had been broadcasted on September 4, 2017 on VTV1 in the Humanitarian programme. As one of the major areas in reducing maternal and new born mortality, EU has been supporting the efforts in the provinces on educating the ethnical birth attendants during the last 5 years. In total 960 attendants had been trained in 10 provinces, including Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Son La, Yen Bai, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum.
