    The EU Health Facility (EU-HF) in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MOH) conducted a one-day training workshop on basic health service package (BHSP) and guidelines to 39/2017/TT-BYT Circular implementation in Hai Phong today. Well attended by participants who work in both health and social insurance, and local authorities, the training workshop is designed to prepare local staff in using BHSP as a tool towards universal health insurance coverage.

    A Workshop on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Options for Ninh Binh and Da Nang is taking place in Hanoi today. Within the cooperation program, Health Sector Policy Support Program Phase II (HSPSP II), between EU and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to introduce PPP to the health sector in Vietnam, this one-day workshop is organized by the Department of Planning and Finance (Ministry of Health) and the EU Health Facility (EU-HF) to support two local hospitals in Ninh Binh and Da Nang.

As a part of the video reportage on the European Union’s support for the health sector in Vietnam, our next video was broadcasted on September 11, 2017 in Humanitarian programme on VTV1. The video is focused on the benefits of the health insurance cards to poor and near poor households and ethnic minorities. The costs of the services, provided to near poor are in full covered by the health insurance. The near poor households are reimbursed up to 95% of the costs of services.The health insurance cardholders have access to all health institutions at different levels of care. With the support of European Union through Health sector policy support programme phase II, as of 2016, more than 4.7 million health insurance cards have been issued to near-poor households across the country.
